From the Desk of Steve Perkins, This past Saturday evening, I confirmed again why it is a pleasure and an honor to work in the Myrtle Point School District. I attended the Myrtle Point Booster Club Auction at the Oaks Pavilion. The highly attended auction was an example of how this community supports the school district and activities that their children have the opportunity to participate in. The auction raised over one hundred and sixty thousand dollars for various activities and the track project. This is an unbelievable amount of money raised in one evening. This is just another example of what this community is capable of. I would like to thank all of those that attended and contributed to the enormous success of the auction. I would also like to thank the Booster Club for their hard work and dedication to make this activity so successful. On another note, our fall sports are wrapping up. Volleyball will complete their regular season this week. Our football team has their last home game this Thursday the 19th and concludes their regular season on the 26th @ Camas Valley. Playoff game information will be posted on the Facebook page when we know where and when the playoffs will be. Myrtle Crest is hosting their annual Book Fair this week, so make sure you drop by the school Library to check out the many books and educational supplies available for purchase. The first, and hopefully Annual Fall Festival, will be held by the PTK organization on Thursday, November 9th at Myrtle Crest. This will be a carnival with many fun games and activities for all ages. There will be the popular cake walk and Bingo. Again, I can’t say enough good things about this district and community. Steve Perkins
