P- EBT Summer 2023 Benefits
about 2 years ago, Jaimie Blanton
ODE/ODHS will issue benefits as a one-time payment amount of $120 to each eligible child. Starting early-September, eligible children will receive a letter in the mail, and benefits will be added to their existing P-EBT card from the Summer 2022 issuance. Newly eligible students can expect to receive a P-EBT card mailed to their home. P-EBT SUMMER 2023 BENEFITS ARE COMING WHO’S ELIGIBLE? Children eligible for P-EBT include children who, in the 2022-23 instructional year, were enrolled in May of 2023 in a school that participates in the National School Lunch (NSLP) program and • Have been certified as eligible for free or reduced-price meals through an NSLP application or direct certification; OR • Attended a school participating in the Community Eligible Provision (CEP) or Provision 2 for breakfast and lunch; OR • Received SNAP, TANF, or Foster Care between July 2022 – August 2023. Families who apply for NSLP through their school by August 31, 2023, may be eligible for Summer 2023 P-EBT. Approved applications will be used for Summer 2023 P-EBT and School Year 2023-24 NSLP meals. Children under 6 can receive P-EBT benefits if they are not receiving SNAP and (1) attended a school participating in the NSLP May 2023 OR (2) are eligible for federal free/reduced price meals or attended a CEP or Provision 2 school. Children with SNAP may receive the 2023 P-EBT School Year benefit later this year

Myrtle Point will be having sports physicals next week on August 8th from 9am-12pm at Myrtle Crest. Huge thanks go to Kaylie Parrish for donating her time and energy to make this a free event for our student-athletes! Physicals are good for two years. Please make sure your athlete has a current physical by August 14th for fall high school athletes and August 28th for middle school athletes. You can not start practices without a physical. Please use the link below to print out and fill out the parent section of the form ahead of time if you are unable to attend the physicals with your child. https://www.osaa.org/docs/forms/Physical%20Examination%20Form%20(EN%20r2023).pdf Go Bobcats!

Myrtle Crest 4th-grade classes enjoyed sharing some love by decorating coffee sleeves for Myrtle Perk, the coffee shop owned by the sister of one of our classmates. If you pick up a drink with one of our creations, you can share it on Instagram at mpsd_41. Watch for more community connections like this one when classes are back in session in the fall.

The 2020-21 through 2021-22 yearbook for Myrtle Crest will be ready soon. The book covers our Covid years and is two years in one book. To be clear, this yearbook is NOT for THIS school year (2022-23). That yearbook will come out in the fall.
