Monday, November 18th
There is no school for any students in the district next week (11/25-11/29), which happens to be the week of Thanksgiving. There is also no school on Friday, November 22nd, due to morning conferences. All schools, Myrtle Crest, Maple and the High School will be hosting parent/teacher conferences on the evening of Thursday, November 21st and morning conferences on Friday the 22nd .
High School winter sports start today, Monday, November 18th. The first contests are Wednesday, December 4th. Middle School boys’ basketball and girls/boys wrestling is in full swing.
Maple Middle School hosted their first dance before Halloween. It was fun for all. Students got free popcorn and water. The Myrtle Crest Fall Festival was postponed last Friday night due to our high school football team playing in the state playoffs. The Festival is being re-scheduled for a later date. Even though we lost to Oakland, it was a great game and we need to be proud of the team. Our high school volleyball team was also very successful, winning our league and losing in the state playoffs.
After Thanksgiving week, we have three full weeks before the Christmas vacation. The last day of school for students before Christmas vacation is Thursday, December 19th.
I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season. Thanksgiving and Christmas and the New Year are about to be upon us.
