With school starting in just a couple of weeks, it is very important to get your children registered. All three schools offer online registration through the Myrtle Point School District website: www.mpsd.k12.or.us. You can also visit the school offices to register in person on Tuesday, August 18, or Wednesday, August 19.
We have been busy preparing our schools for the upcoming year. At Myrtle Point High School, we completed a new roof on the A Wing. At Maple Middle School, we installed five additional air-conditioning units, completing that process. We have also made improvements in front of Myrtle Crest with new windows, along with completing various other maintenance projects throughout the district. If you haven’t seen it yet, the high school also has a new greenhouse adjacent to the Music Room.
We have continued to make improvements at Maple Middle School throughout the summer, and we are especially looking forward to the Maple Middle School Seismic Retrofit project scheduled for the summer of 2027. Our maintenance and custodial teams have done a tremendous job preparing all three schools for the start of the school year. We greatly appreciate their hard work and dedication.
As a reminder, the State of Oregon has adopted a cell phone policy requiring students to be without their cell phones from the beginning of the school day until the end of the day. Students must turn off their phones and place them in their lockers or check them into the office. We were very pleased with how well our students complied with this requirement last year, and we appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation.

Lastly, please note the following important schedule information:
Monday, August 31: Grades 1–5 will start at Myrtle Crest, and only 6th graders will attend Maple Middle School. This gives our 6th graders an opportunity to become comfortable with their new surroundings. At the high school, only 9th graders will attend.
Tuesday, September 1: Grades 7–8 and 10–12 begin school.
Friday, September 4: No school, allowing for a four-day weekend.
Monday, September 7: No school — Labor Day.
Tuesday, September 8: All students return to school.
