Students from kindergarten through eighth grade are participating in an exciting Winter Olympics celebration filled with movement, teamwork, and school spirit. During PE, each grade level is enjoying age-appropriate Olympic-style activities, such as bobsled races, speed skating, figure skating, ski jumping, curling, hockey and even a snowball fight.
Along with the games, students are learning about Winter Olympic sports, countries from around the world, and the importance of sportsmanship. Laughter, encouragement, and friendly competition filled the gyms at Myrtle Crest and Maple as students cheered each other on.
The Winter Olympics event is a wonderful way to keep students active, promote current events and try new activities.
The students each designed their own medals!
The real hero is Mrs. Hunter. She has put great effort into making this memorable for the kids.
